Original pale green cloth. Gilt lettering and ornate design to front boards and spines. TEG. With coloured illustrations ( all present ) by C E Brock. First Brock illustrated editions - 1907 to 1909. A very good + to Very Good ++ set. The books are bright and well preserved. The front boards are clean - cleaner than is normally found. There is a surface crease on the main body of the front board of Pride and Prejudice. The gilt on the front boards is bright and bold. Some of the corners are very lightly bruised. The back boards are bright. The spines are unfaded and sharp. The pages are bright. The uncut closed page edges are slightly dusty - the top edge gilt on all volumes is lightly soiled. The bindings are tight - the front board hinges on Persuasion and Sense & Sensibility is a little fragile ( but totally intact ). No loose pages. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice set.
