A small format 1/- UK reprint - undated, but from the mid 1930's. Issued to coincide with the 1935 London Film production of the story, the front cover features an image, taken from the film, of Paul Robeson and Leslie Banks.

Wrapper : The period wrapper on this copy is bright and complete. It is unclipped. The front panel is bright, clean and unfaded. It shows gentle wear at the top and bottom edges. The spine is clean. It has gently faded and is lightly rubbed at the head and the tail. The back panel is sound - it is slightly soiled. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

Book: The book is square and very tight. The boards are bright and very clean. The lower corners and the spine ends are inconsequentially bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are dusty and show occasional spotting. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There is a gift inscription ( dated 1935 ) written in pencil on the ffep. A pleasing copy in a protected wrapper. .
