A UK first edition, first impression.
Wrapper : The evocative period wrapper on this copy ( artwork by Youngman Carter ) is bright and complete. It is unclipped - the inside flap is however un-priced. The price 2/6 appears on the spine -so, I am not sure what state wrapper this is. The front panel is bright and unfaded. The spine is bright and unfaded. It is inconsequentially rubbed at the ends. The back panel is fresh, showing insignificant overall soiling. Looks sharp.
Book : The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are clean, the spine is very slightly faded. The upper corners are very slightly rubbed. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean, No foxing. The closed page edges are slightly toned. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. An attractive copy in a protected wrapper.
