The Wilderness Trail
A UK first edition, first impression. Undated, but the US first came out in 1923, so I should imagine that this is from the mid to late 1920's.
Wrapper : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is complete and unclipped. It shows the price 7/6 on the spine. The front panel is unfaded, showing minor nicking and gentle wear at each of the corners and very light bruising at the upper and lower edges. The spine is unfaded, and is slightly scuffed and rubbed at the top and the bottom. The back panel is sound. It shows light soiling and like the front panel is slightly worn at each of the corners. Looks sharp in protective plastic.Book : The book is tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are clean and unfaded. The corners are sharp. There is a touch of trivial bruising to the spine ends. The text block is clean. The closed page edges are a touch dusty. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. A nice copy.
