The unexpurgated edition - "printed complete, following the original manuscript, according to my wish." First published five months prior by Secker, the book was seized while it was en route to Lawrence's London agent. It was declared to be "indecent", forcing Lawrence to revise the original text. This edition includes the 14 poems omitted from the Secker edition. Printed jacket in red and black, over stiff card wraps. Comes with the original glassine shipping wrappers and the original white slipcase. A near fine copy - bright, clean and without inscriptions. Tight binding. In a bright, unfaded wrapper, showing one or two spots on the inside flaps. The glassine wrapper is clean and bright, showing slithers of loss at the spine ends. The white slipcase shows gentle wear at the edges and some overall soilng. This copy is SIGNED by D H Lawrence to the limitation page. An attractive copy.
