A Candidate for a Coffin
A UK first edition, first impression.
Wrapper : The evocative period wrapper on this copy ( artwork by Micklewright ) is bright and complete. It is unclipped. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing a hint of gentle wear to the spine crease. The spine is clean and unfaded. It shows a hint of bruising and trivial nicking to the ends. The back panel is sound, showing light wear at each of the corners. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
Book : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean and unfaded. There is a touch of minor bubbling to the cloth on the front board. The corners are sound. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The text block and closed page edges are slightly dulled. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
