Two volumes in their uncommon jackets. Bright and well preserved. Specifically written for this 1939 series. UK first editions, first printings. The wrappers are clean, unfaded and bright. They are unclipped. The spine ends on both volumes are lightly scuffed and both spine panels are gently toned. The top edges on each wrapper are slightly bruised. The books are fresh, bright and tight. The front and back covers are bright, clean and sharp. No fading. The pages are clean, though the text block is - inevitably - slightly dulled. The closed page edges are a little dusty. No foxing. The binding is tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. Attractive copies.
