Translated from the Serbo-Croat by Kenneth Johnstone. A UK first edition, first impression.

WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright, clean and complete. It shows a small ( invisible ) closed tear on the front panel and slight rubbing to the spine ends. Comes with the original wraparound band noting "Nobel Prize Winner 1961. The band is lightly soiled and creased and is torn at the spine. Looks very sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is bright and tight. The boards are clean and are unfaded. The corners are sharp. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are sound - the top edge is a tad dusty. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. An attractive copy in a protected wrapper.
