Handcrafted by The Corvedale Press, a new private press established by Paul Kidson, owner of Ludlow Bookbinders. The inception of The Corvedale Press within the Ludlow Bookbinders family is the foundation for the sheer quality and craftsmanship woven in to every element of the production, and it's important to understand the constituents to gain insight into the book in its entirety. The Jane Austen series showcases the best of British craftsmanship.

The Book : Deluxe limited edition. Fully bound in green leather and housed in a suede-lined slipcase. The front of the slipcase and book have gold blocked regency inspired figures, specially commissioned for this project. The images don't do justice to the quality of the blocking, which is raised and shimmers gold and green. The spine on the book shows the title and comes with raised bands. The book has a gilt top edge.

Books from Ludlow Bookbinders are in the library of the late Queen, President Obama and the Library of Congress, to name just a few. Many of the books produced by Ludlow Bookbinders have proved to be excellent investments - tripling in value within a couple of years.

Illustrations : The Corvedale Press has specially commissioned illustrations by Karen Billingham, who has SIGNED each limited edition. Her 32 drawings adorn throughout the book. A passionate illustrator, strong in the belief that art is an important and powerful tool of communication. Karen has been developing a range of illustrative styles and is excited to showcase her line and watercolour art in a series of illustrations for this classic book.

Typesetting : The typesetting was designed by Phil Cleaver (Professor in the Creative Industries at Middlesex University and Visiting Professor of Typography at Birmingham City University) and Zhouyan Sun at et al design. Phil Cleaver is known for his innovative graphic design work. His approach to typesetting involves careful consideration of font choices, spacing, and overall layout to ensure that the text is not only readable but also enhances the overall design. He has a unique approach that often involves blending creativity with functionality.

All in all, a very handsome production.
