A UK first edition, first impression. Undated, but 1935 ( Hubin ). The author's first mystery novel. Uncommon.

WRAPPER : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright, clean, unfaded and complete. It has been clipped and re-priced ( 5/- ). Very fresh and very well preserved, showing invisible wear at the head of the spine. Looks superb in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean and bright. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are spotted. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A very attractive copy in a protected wrapper.
