Quarter bound in blue leather over blue and white striped boards. Gilt lettering on spine with gilt illustration of an old don. Housed in a slipcase. One of 750 copies, SIGNED by the illustrator, Osbert Lancaster. This is copy number 50. The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are clean and unfaded, the corners sharp. The pages and closed page edges are clean and bright. The text block is lightly dulled. The binding is tight - no cracked hinges. No remainder marks. This copy has been SIGNED by Osbert Lancaster to the limitation page. The complete and unfaded slipcase is in Very Good ++ condition - it shows light overall soiling, a touch of marginal toning and gentle wear to the top and bottom of the opening. A very nice copy.
