A bright UK first edition, first impression - first trade edition, preceded by the Fleece Press limited edition of 1997. The story of four students - Dora Carrington, Paul Nash and his brother John, and Christine Kuhlenthal - who met at the Slade School of Painting in the years prior to the 1st World War. Illustrated throughout with drawings taken from letters, photographs and twenty three colour plates.
WRAPPER: The wrapper on this copy is bright, unfaded, complete and unclipped. Looks very sharp.
BOOK: The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are clean and unfaded, the corners sharp. The pages are clean and bright. The closed page edges are fresh. No foxing. The binding is tight - no cracked hinges. No remainder marks. A very nice copy in a protected wrapper.
