The Moth-Watch Murder (Original Dustwrapper Artwork)

This is the ORIGINAL, hand painted Collins Crime Club dustwrapper artwork for the Collins Crime Club title, The Moth-Watch Murder. The book, by Miles Burton, was later to be published in 1957. This piece is hand-painted in red, yellow, white and black with white and black lettering on card. Crime Club motifs have been mounted on. This in turn has been mounted on a light black board. The colours on the actual published jacket are different to those painted here - the yellow background on the hand painted original was replaced, and the book, when published, featured a blue background. The red bottle on the original was replaced with a green bottle. The black and white lettering remained the same. The piece measures 24.5 cm by 20 cm. This piece is in excellent condition. The colours are bright bold and sharp. None of the colours have faded and there are no ugly blemishes or marks. There are printing instructions and details written on a pink slip pasted to the back of the piece. This piece has been SIGNED by the artist, William Randell. Unique.

Publisher: Collins (Collins Crime Club)
