A Cassell's Shilling novel. Cheap edition, 1933 stated on the copyright page.
WRAPPER: The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright, clean and complete. It is unclipped. The front panel is bright, clean and unfaded. The top edge is gently worn and shows a 3 cm closed tear running down adjacent to the spine crease. The spine is unfaded. The spine ends are gently rubbed and scuffed. The back panel is bruised at the lower edge. It shows an overall patina of gentle soiling. Looks sharp.
BOOK: The book is square and very tight. The boards are slightly dusty. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean, though as ever with these cheaper productions, they are dulled and toned with age. The closed page edges are likewise toned. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
