A UK first edition - first state. No wrapper. The book is sound and tight. The front and back boards are unfaded, if lightly soiled. The design on the front board is bold. The corners are light rubbed. The spine is sound, the spine lettering is still legible. The spine is bruised and gently worn at the top and bottom. The pages are clean - the endpapers show ghosting and the opening and closing few pages show occasional spotting. The text block is gently toned with age. The closed page edges are dulled. There is a contemporary ( ?) W H Smith subscription library sticker on the front pastedown. binding is tight - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy of an uncommon title.
