Cunard, Nancy - Black Man and White Ladyship
Cunard's attack on racism. Original sewn brick-red soft wraps. Printed by the Utopia Press in London. Not for Sale stated on the back cover. Second printing stated on last page. Something of a curiosity as some sources state that there was only ever one edition of this printed, which was distributed privately to Cunard's friends. However given that the print run of this privately printed pamphlet was very small indeed ( how many exactly is unknown ) then it is probable that there was a second printing.
The Wrapper : No wrapper as issued.
The Book : The book is square, complete and tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The covers are clean and unfaded- no ugly creases or blemishes. The pages are clean and bright. There is staining to each of the pages where the string of the binding has pierced the paper. The closed page edges are unmarked. No foxing. The binding is tight. All round a bright copy of a notoriously difficult pamphlet.
Publisher : Privately published 1931
