A UK SECOND impression - the first edition was published one year earlier.
Wrapper : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is solid, clean and intact. It is unclipped. The front panel is bright and unfaded. It shows gentle wear at the top edge and light surface creasing at the bottom edge. There are two small closed tears, each running up from the lower edge corners. The pictorial spine is bright. It is gently scuffed at the head and slightly creased at the tail. The back panel is sound, showing gentle wear at the top edge and chipping to the bottom edge. There is a closed tear running up from the bottom edge. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
Book : The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are very clean. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean - no foxing. The closed page edges are unmarked - they are slightly dusty. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. A nice copy.
