Defoe, Daniel - The Life & Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe
One of 500 copies. Illustrated by Edward Gordon Craig, including one original print. Large 4to. Quarter bound in dark blue Nigerian goatskin over unbleached sailcloth sides. Leather label to spine. Housed in a slipcase. The woodcuts for this edition of Crusoe were originally created by Edward Gordon Craig in 1924 - however the artist was obsessive in nature, and continued to work on the designs well into the 1960s. This 1979 edition is the first published appearance of the finished artwork. A clean, bright copy - no inscriptions, no fading, tight and bright text block - in an unfaded slipcase that shows one or two marks and trivial fraying at the bottom edge. An attractive copy of an uncommon book. Please note that as this is a heavy book, postage will be more than standard. PayPa accepted.
