A UK first edition, first impression.

WRAPPER : The period wrapper on this copy ( artwork by Bip Pares ) is very bright, very clean and is complete. It is unclipped. It shows the price 8/6 on the front inside flap. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing a touch of wear to the edges and corners. The spine is very clean and is unfaded. It shows a touch of rubbing and scuffing at the head. The back panel is sound, showing light bruising and a single closed tear ( 1cm ) to the top edge. Looks very sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are bright and clean. The boards are unfaded. The lower corners and the spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are sound - the top edge is dusty and spotted. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. An attractive copy in a protected wrapper.
