An uncorrected UK proof ( Advanced Reader's Copy ). Uncommon. This is a decent copy, without previous ownership inscriptions. The green covers are intact - they are toned and there is some staining to the rear cover. All the corners are bruised - the bottom leading edge corner is nicked. 18/- and 'Book society choice for December 58' are written on the upper cover. The spine is lightly creased and is toned. The spine ends are gently rubbed. The pages are generally clean - there are isolated instances of spotting. The leading edge page corners show light creasing at the tips. The closed page edges are gently flecked and a touch dusty. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges or loose pages. Given the fragility of proof copies - particularly of this vintage - this is in solid condition.
