William Russell Flint's copy of the proof illustrations for 'The Lisping Goddess'. 26 plates, 2 in colour. SIGNED by William Russell Flint on initial blank. Numerous blank leaves, some pencil annotation by the artist. Dark blue morocco boards bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe with Flint's key design in gilt to the upper cover, gilt lettering to spine, t.e.g. On the second initial blank Flint has written in pencil 'All the pencil drawings (except Neptune) were made direct from the figureheads in the lower hold of the Cutty Sark, in a very poor light. Scarcely any touches were added at home'. A bright copy - tightly bound and without inscriptions. Hint of inconsequential soiling to the boards and gentle toning to the spine. An attractive book.
