Vintage crime, set on the western seaboard of America. A UK first edition, first impression - the book is a first edition, the wrapper has been clipped and a 2/6 price has been stamped on the spine.

WRAPPER : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright, clean and complete. It has been clipped. The front panel is clean, bright and unfaded, showing a trivial hint of rubbing at the lower edge. There is a closed tear ( internally repaired ) and a surface crease at the upper spine corner. The pictorial spine is bright and unfaded. It is lightly rubbed and scuffed at the ends. The back panel is bright, showing trivial wear at the upper edge. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are fresh and very clean. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are very clean. The closed page edges are unmarked. They are slightly dusty. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A very nice copy in a protected wrapper.
