In October 2017, Leslie Gerry travelled to Venice, resulting in twenty nine paintings. Twelve months later, Venice Reflections emerged, a very personal record of his interaction with the city. The text is taken from Jan Morris's Venice.

John Buchtel, the curator of rare books at the Boston Athenaeum Library used Venice Reflections as their first “Curator’s Choice Virtual Lecture”. They hold Jan Morris’ original draft “Venice”. A very interesting talk, showing the unique blend of the text with the artworks:
