We previously bought and/or sold this book in the following, or similar, condition:
Original blue cloth, lettered in gilt to the spine. Gilt lettering and border to front board. Top edge gilt. A US first edition, but not the first issue as there are no ads to the rear of the book.
Wrapper: No wrapper.
Book: The book is sound and very tight. The front and back boards are crisp, clean and very bright. There is the tiniest hint of rubbing to the corners of both boards. The gilt on the front board is bright. The spine has slightly darkened, the spine lettering is bold. The spine is lightly bruised at the top and bottom. The pages are very bright and very clean. No foxing. The uncut closed page edges are just the tiniest touch dusty. The binding is tight with no loose pages or cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A very nice copy.
