A volume in Hutchinson's 2/- Mystery Story Library. A UK second edition - undated, but from the late 1920's.
Wrapper: The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright and well preserved. It is complete and it is unclipped. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing light bruising at the top edge. The spine is bright. The spine ends are lightly bruised. The back panel is sound, showing bruising at the top edge and light wear at the bottom edge. Looks very sharp.
Book: The book is square and tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are very bright and very clean. The corners are sharp. There is a small ding on the lower edge of the back board. The pages are clean - no foxing. The closed page edges are unmarked - no spotting. No dog-eared pages. The binding is tight - no cracked hinges. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
