Hardy, Thomas - Jude the Obscure

Original green ribbed cloth, TEG. No page numbering on partially blank pages. With an Etching by H. Macbeth-Raeburn and a map of Wessex. A UK first edition - first edition in book form. The book is sound and tight. The front and back boards are lightly marked, as are the spine ends. The corners and the spine ends are gently bruised. The gilt on the spine and front board is bright. The pages are clean - there is , as ever, ghosting to the endpapers. No foxing. The closed page edges are dusty. The binding is tight - the front board hinge is cracked. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy of an uncommon title.
