A UK first edition, first impression.

WRAPPER : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright and complete. It is unclipped - showing the price 7/6 on the inside flap. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing rubbing and surface creasing to the top and bottom edges. There is a small closed tear ( 2cm ) running down from the top edge and a similar tear running up from the bottom edge. The spine is - unusually - clean and unfaded. The spine is scuffed and nicked to the ends. The back panel is clean, showing gentle wear at the bottom edge. Looks sharp.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are very clean, the corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are slightly dusty. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
