WRAPPER: The wrapper on this copy (artwork by Edward Bawden) is solid and presents well in protective plastic. It shows overall toning (particularly at the spine) and chipping to the spine ends. The top edge of the back panel shows light wear. The wrapper has been clipped and re-priced. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
BOOK: The book is square and tight. The decorated boards are sound, showing light toning at the edges. The spine ends are bruised. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are dulled and dusty. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There is a gift inscription (dated 1943) on the ffep. A decent copy in a protected wrapper.
