Filmed in 1947, starring Gregory Peck and directed by Elia Kazan. The jacket on this copy features Gregory Peck in the film. A UK first edition, first impression.

WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright, unfaded and complete. It is unclipped. It shows light rubbing to all edges and scuffing and gentle nicking at the head of the spine. The spine panel is unfaded. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean, the corners are sharp. The spine ends are bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are sound - the top edge is faintly flecked and slightly dusty. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. This copy belonged to crime writer Derek Smith and has hs ownership inscription on the ffep. An attractive copy in a protected wrapper.
