Hocking, Joseph - Fields of Fair Renown

An early UK reprint. Undated, but probably from the mid to late 1930's.

WRAPPER : The evocative period wrapper on this copy ( artwork by Abbey ) is bright and complete. It has been clipped. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing a tiny touch of bruising at the bottom edge and slight nicking at each of the corners. The leading edge is rubbed. The spine is clean and unfaded. It is scuffed and rubbed at either end. The white back panel is bright. It is rubbed at the spine crease and shows a trace of bruising at the top and bottom edges. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are dusty and lightly flecked. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
