We previously bought and/or sold this book in the following, or similar, condition:
A UK first edition, first impression. Undated - but from the late 1920's. Priced at 3/6 on the spine pane and ' An entirely new novel ' stated underneath the price.
Wrapper: The evocative period wrapper on this copy is very bright, very clean and is complete. It is unclipped. The front and back panels are bright, clean and unfaded. The spine is sharp and unfaded. Well preserved. Looks very sharp in protective plastic.
Book: The book is square and very tight. The boards are bright and clean. The corners are sharp. There is a touch of bruising to the spine ends. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are sound, if very slightly dusty. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. There are three small, contemporary ownership stamps - one on the front pastedown, one on the reverse of the ffep and one on the title page. A handsome, well preserved copy in a protected wrapper.Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton
