Vintage romance. A UK fourth edition.

Wrapper : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright, unfaded, clean and complete. It is unclipped. The front panel is clean, bright and unfaded. It shows a single ( invisible ) closed tear ( 2cm ) at the lower leading edge corner. The spine is clean. It is very gently scuffed and bruised at the ends. There is a closed tear of 5 cm ( rendered invisible by the removable protective plastic that covers the wrapper ) running up the front panel / spine crease. The white back panel is bright. Looks very sharp.

Book : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean. The corners are sharp. It shows light bruising to the spine ends. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are dusty, lightly toned and gently flecked. No dog-eared pages. The binding is tight - no cracked hinges. There is a small, neat ownership inscription ( dated 1946 ) on the ffep. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
