A bright UK first edition, first impression. Illustrated by Mervyn Peake.
WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright, unfaded, complete and unclipped. There is a publisher's decimal sticker over the shilling price on the front inside flap. The wrapper shows a tiny trace of bruisng to the upper edges. Looks very sharp.
BOOK : The book is square and very tight. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. The boards are clean and unfaded, the corners sharp. The spine ends are inconsequentially bruised. The pages are clean and bright. The closed page edges are unmarked. No foxing. The binding is tight - no cracked hinges. A lovely copy in a protected wrapper.
