Original maroon coloured cloth, lettered in gilt to the spine. 1945 stated on copyright page, but 1965. Second, unauthorized edition. Octavo. 36 pages. Thirty-one poems. About 500 copies were printed. This copy comes with a dustwrapper - 280 copies were sold with a dust jacket before sale was stoppe with the remaining 220 copies lacking jackets.
WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright, clean and complete. It is unclipped, showing the price 21s on the inside flap. The front panel is bright, clean and unfaded, showing wear- including a 1cm closed tear - at the top edge. The spine is clean. The head of the spine is very lightly rubbed. The back panel is bright and clean, showing a single 1cm closed tear running down from the top edge. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
BOOK : The book is sound and tight. The front and back boards are very bright and very clean. The corners are sharp. The spine is bright, the spine lettering is bold. The spine is very slightly bruised at the top and bottom. The pages are very clean and are without foxing. The closed page edges are fresh and bright. The binding is tight - no loose pages or cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A handsome copy.
