We previously bought and/or sold this book in the following, or similar, condition:
A US first edition, first impression.
Wrapper: The evocative period wrapper on this copy (artwork by Hy Rubin) is bright and complete. It is unclipped, showing the price $2.00 on the inside flap. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing gentle and very light wear at each of the corners. The spine is clean and bright. It is inconsequentially darkened and shows a hint of scuffing and rubbing to the ends. The back panel is fresh, showing a small chip out of the top edge. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
Book: The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean and unfaded. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are slightly toned - the leading edge shows one or two spots. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
Publisher: Rich & Cowan, 1947
