Death on the Oxford Road

Undated, but given the red boards on the book and the list of titles on the wrapper, this is an early reprint - possibly from 1935.

Wrapper : The evocative period wrapper on this copy is bright and complete. It is unclipped - the price on the spine has been printed over with a blue circle. The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing gentle wear to the top and the bottom edges. There is a closed tear running down from the top edge of the front panel. The spine is unfaded and shows rubbing and light chipping at the ends. The spine is lightly soiled. The white back panel is sound, showing wear at the top and bottom edges and gentle soiling to the main body. The edges of the wrapper has been reinforce internally. The Lorac title listed on the back cover of the book finish with Murder in St John's Wood , which was first published in 1934. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

Book : The book is square and tight. The boards are clean. The spine is unfaded, the spine ends are inconsequentially bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are gently toned. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. No loose pages. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. There is a small ownership book label on the ffep. The book has a slight lean. The titles listed on the reverse of the half title page finish with Death of an Author, which was first published in 1935.
