The author's first novel. An uncorrected UK proof ( Advanced Reader's Copy ). This is a bright copy, without previous ownership inscriptions. The covers are bright. The front cover shows a shallow nick out of the leading edge and there is a similar nick out of the top edge of the back cover. The spine is lightly discoloured and slightly bruised at the ends. The spine is solid and intact. The pages and closed page edges are clean if very lightly toned. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges or loose pages. Given the fragility of proof copies - particularly of this vintage - this is in very nice condition.
