First published in 1943, this is the 1947 UK third edition. Uncommon.
WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright and complete. It is unclipped, showing the price 6/- on the inside flap. The front panel ( artwork by Rowland Hilder ) is bright, clean and unfaded, showing tiny, tiny nicks to the upper corners. The spine is dulled and shows a slither of loss at the head. The back panel is sound, showing light bruising at the top edge. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are sharp and clean. The corners are sharp. The pages are very clean - there is ghosting to the ffep. The closed page edges are sound - the top edge is a little dusty. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
