Marsh, Ngaio - Scales of Justice (Original Dustwrapper Artwork)

The ORIGINAL, hand-painted dustwrapper artwork for the Collins Crime Club title, Scales of Justice. The book, by Ngaio Marsh, features series detective Roderick Alleyn. It was later to be published in 1955. The colours used for the original artwork differ from those used on the actual published wrapper. This piece is hand-painted and measures 195 mm x 160 mm. It is mounted on a light white board. The margins of the white board include pencil and pen instructions to the printer, with further instructions and details on a pink slip pasted to the back. The artwork is uncredited.
