The front panel is bright and unfaded, showing rubbing and scuffing at the top and bottom edges. The spine has faded. It is lightly chipped at the ends. The back panel is sound, showing light scratching to the main body. The top edge shows wear, including a small triangular chip out at the centre. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
BOOK: The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean, bright and unfaded. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are unmarked. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. SIGNED by Somerset Maugham at the limitation page. A very nice copy in a protected wrapper.
