WRAPPER : The period wrapper on this copy ( artwork by Will Owen ) is bright and complete. It has been clipped. It is toned to all extremities and there is a small chip out of the head of the spine. There is a 3cm closed tear running down from the top edge of the back panel. Looks sharp in protective plastic.
BOOK : The book is square and tight. The boards are clean, showing inconsequential toning at the edges.. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are slightly dusty and slightly toned. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A very nice copy in a protected wrapper. Inscribed by the author : Gerald. With remembrances of many kindnesses. Yours ever, Mac Derek McCulloch 1931.
