Ross Macdonald's third mystery. A UK first edition, first impression. The Jacket is priced at 4/6, so I take this to be a later issue jacket.

WRAPPER : The 4/6 wrapper on this copy is bright, unfaded and complete. It is unclipped. The front panel is bright and unfaded. It shows light rubbing to the leading edge corners. The spine is unfaded and clean. It is slightly rubbed and bruised at the ends. The white back panel is sound, if very slightly soiled. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean, the corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges are sound - the top edge is slightly dusty. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. An attractive copy in a protected wrapper.
