First UK edition with Rackham illustrations. Collated and complete with twelve colour plates, each with protective tissue guard. Presented with the front panel only of the dust wrapper loosely laid in - the front panel is complete and bright with just some minor edge wear and creases.
BOOK : The book is tight and clean. It shows light bumping to the spine ends. The boards are clean with just the odd small mark. Top edge blue. The pages show occasional spotting. The closed page edges are generally clean with just one or two spots. The lower closed page edge is marked. There is a later gift inscription to front blank. Internally, firmly bound. Just a few instances of light spotting to leaves. A lovely first edition with Rackham's macabre illustrations.
