One of 275 copies ( this being copy number 142 ), illustrated in colour by Alexandre Alexeieff. Original quarter vellum over black buckram. Spine lettered in gilt, t.e.g. A Very Good + copy. The original black boards are - as ever - rubbed. The gilt on the front board is bold. The corners are sharp. The vellum on the spine is soiled. Internally very bright - with the exception of a few small spots on the endpapers, no foxing. Bright uncut closed page edges. Tight binding. No previous ownership inscriptions. A decent copy.
