Shute, Nevil - Round the Bend (Original Pan Dustwrapper Artwork)

The ORIGINAL, hand-painted dustwrapper artwork by Hans Helweg for Pan's Round the Bend. The book, by Nevil Shute, was later to be published in 1968. This piece is hand-painted and measures 465 mm x 340 mm. The painting itself occupies the centre of the card it is painted on. The card is mounted on a thick white board. A paper frame and a piece of acetate are attached to the board so as to flip over and frame the artwork. The acetate has the author's name, the book title and the pan logo on it. The margins of the frame include hand-written instructions to the printer. The piece is unsigned. The artwork is in lovely condition - clean, bright, unfaded, with just one tiny crease at the very tip of the bottom left hand corner. The thin paper frame has a closed tear at the bottom right hand corner and is creased at the bottom left hand corner. The acetate is yellowed and lightly soiled. Unique.
