Stratton-Porter, Gene - The Magic Garden

A US first edition, first impression. An uncommon title.

WRAPPER : The fragile wrapper on this copy is a little tired and somewhat worn. It is unclipped - showing the price $2.00 on the inside flap. It is chipped along the edges and shows an area of loss at the back panel/ spine crease - fairly unobtrusive as the green of the boards blends in with the design of the wrapper. The spine is sunned and chipped at the ends. Looks acceptable in Brodart.

BOOK : The book is square and tight. The pictorial boards are clean, unfaded and bright. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing, no dog-eared pages. The text block and closed page edges are gently toned with age. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. No remainder marks. There is a neat, contemporary ( 1927 ) presentation inscription on the half title page.
