A UK First edition, first impression. Unusual in its jacket. The publisher's File Copy with ARCHIVE COPY printed on the title page of the book. Also comes with scarce wraparound promotional band. Unique thus.

WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright, complete and unclipped. The front and back panels show gentle wear to the edges. The spine is gently sunned and is gently rubbed and scuffed at the top and the bottom. The scarce wraparound band is lightly sunned at the spine. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is tight. The red boards are clean and are unfaded. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are bruised. The text block is clean - two of the signatures are toning and there is spotting to the endpapers. The closed page edges are sound, the bottom edge is lightly flecked. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is tight, the hinges are solid. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A very nice copy in a protected wrapper.
