Hubin listed. A UK first edition, first impression. Wrapper priced at 5/- with 871A stamped on the spine - I do not know, therefore, whether this is the first issue wrapper for this book.

WRAPPER : The evocative period wrapper on this copy ( artwork by Abbey ) is bright and complete. It is unclipped, showing the price 5/- on the inside flap. The front panel and back panels are bright, showing light wear to the edges. The spine has faded a little and is rubbed to the creases. The spine ends are scuffed. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and tight. The boards are clean. The lower corners are bruised. The spine ends are rubbed. The pages are clean. The closed page edges are foxed. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There is a small, neat previous ownership inscription in pencil ( dated 1946 ) at the top of the ffep. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
