Vinge, Vernor - The Witling

A UK first edition, first impression - the first hardcover edition, a Daw paperback original having been published earlier the same year.

WRAPPER : The wrapper on this copy is bright, clean and complete. It is unclipped, showing the price £ 3.95 on the inside flap. The price has ben crossed out in pen. There is a mark on the front panel and gentle soiling to the edges of the back panel. As usual, there is some fading to the red title lettering along the spine. There is a small hole ( holepunched ?) at the top of the front inside flap. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

BOOK : The book is square and very tight. The boards are clean and unfaded. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are slightly bruised. The pages are clean. No foxing. The closed page edges on one signature are gently toned. The top edge shows very occasional and very faint flecking. There are no loose or dog-eared pages. The binding is solid and without cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. A nice copy in a protected wrapper.
