No wrapper as issued. The book is square and tight. The boards are generally clean, showing the occasional mark. The corners are sharp. The spine ends are gently bruised. The spine lettering is bright. The pages are sound - the endpapers and the opening few pages show scattered foxing. The closed page edges are flecked. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. Inscribed : Diana all love, Bo. ( Waugh often called himself Bo in his correspondence with Lady Diana Cooper ).
